Stripe PromptPay

Please Note: This integration does not support saving card details for "no-show" fees. Only Stripe's standard integration supports saving card details for this purpose. Stripe PromptPay is solely used for direct payments without card detail storage.

Stripe PromptPay allows businesses in Thailand to accept payments quickly and easily through the popular PromptPay network. With this option, customers can make payments directly from their bank accounts by scanning a QR code. This method offers a fast, secure, and cost-effective way to complete transactions without needing a credit or debit card.

Stripe offers similar bank-based payment solutions for businesses in Europe and other regions. Here’s how it typically works:

  1. Localized Payment Options: Stripe enables a variety of local payment methods based on where customers are located. In Europe, popular methods include SEPA Direct Debit (for the Eurozone), iDEAL (Netherlands), Bancontact (Belgium), and Giropay (Germany). Customers can pay using their bank accounts, often through a bank login or QR code scan, similar to PromptPay in Thailand.

  2. Businesses using Stripe can configure their payment options so that customers see the most relevant local methods based on their region. This means European customers will automatically see options like SEPA, iDEAL, or others, while customers in Thailand see PromptPay.

  3. These bank-based payment methods are fast and secure, often involving a simple two-step authentication for customer convenience and fraud prevention. In many cases, funds can be transferred at a low cost, making it an attractive alternative to card payments.

To enable Stripe PromptPay as a payment option, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Integrations section in your Tablein settings.

  2. Locate Stripe PromptPay in the list of available integrations. Toggle it to enable, then add a title (such as "Online Payments") or leave it as "Stripe PromptPay" for clarity.

  3. In your Stripe account settings, locate your Secret Key. Copy this key and paste it into the integration settings on Tablein to authorize the connection.

  4. Test the Integration: To ensure everything is set up correctly, make a test payment with a small amount (like €1, the minimum possible amount) to confirm that payments are processing smoothly. This step helps verify that the connection between Stripe and your account is working as expected.
