V3 version: Reservation duration

Attention! The new settings are not compatible with the old plugin version. If you wish to update the plugin on your website, please integrate widget from V3 version widget integration.

Reservation duration

When booking online, the system automatically selects the reservation duration based on the number of people, allowing you to allocate more time for larger groups or a shorter duration for lunchtime reservations.

The updated settings allow you to set a default reservation time, such as 2 hours, and a new minimum possible time.

In the example below, you see two time slots of 1.5 hours each. Previously, the system did not allow booking such time slots as they were shorter than the default 2-hour reservation duration. Now, with the new minimum duration setting, the system will allow booking 1.5-hour slots.

Guests will be informed about the shorter duration and will receive a confirmation email with the start and end times.

To Activate the New Settings

  1. Log in to admin.tablein.com and go to the Reservation duration.

Default Settings

  • If you want to allocate the same duration for all reservations, enter the number of people (from 1 to 99) and choose the desired time, e.g., 2 hours - 2 hours (so the duration will always be 2 hours).

  • Minimum Time: This is intended to maximize restaurant occupancy. If you set a time range of 1.5 hours - 2 hours, and there is a 1.5-hour slot available, the system will offer a 1.5-hour reservation to the guest, who can then decide if that duration is sufficient or if more time is needed.

  • Maximum or default time: When there is enough time between reservations, the system will always select the default time first. If the maximum time slot is not available, it will offer the minimum time slot. (For example, if you set 1:30 hours - 2 hours as the reservation length, the system will automatically select 2 hours. If this time is occupied, it will select 1:45 hours, and finally 1:30 hours.)

  • If you do not want to set a minimum time, enter the same time for the reservation duration, e.g., 2 hours - 2 hours.

  2. Enter a name, e.g., Lunch.
