# How to add walk-in

## Learn how to add walk-in reservation and release table

A walk-in reservation is a table booking made on the spot without a prior appointment. It is commonly used for guests who arrive at the restaurant without a reservation. These bookings are logged immediately into the reservation system to ensure accurate table management and availability tracking.

#### **How to Add a Walk-in Reservation Directly onto the Calendar:**

1. Open [admin.tablein.com](http://admin.tablein.com)
2. Click and drag (to the right) along the time grid to set the duration of the reservation.
3. Change the reservation status to **"Walk-in"**.
4. Click **Save** to confirm the booking.

#### **How to Add a Walk-in Reservation Using the “Reservation” Button**

1. Locate and click the **“Reservation”** button to create a new booking.
2. Set the status to **“Walk-in”**.
3. Input the **total number of guests**.
4. Select both the **Start Time** and **End Time** for the reservation.
5. From the list of available tables, select the desired one and click **Confirm**.
6. Finalize the booking by clicking **Save**.

#### **How to Release a Table After a Walk-in Reservation:**

1. Find and click on the existing **walk-in reservation** from the calendar or reservation list.
2. Adjust the **reservation end time** to the nearest available time slot.
3. Click **Save** to confirm and release the table for new bookings.

### **How to Delete a Walk-in Reservation**

If a guest changes their mind or you need to remove a walk-in reservation, follow these steps:

1. Open the walk-in reservation.
2. Click the **Delete** button below the reservation statuses.

**Note:** The delete option is only available for **blocked** and **walk-in** reservations.
