Learn how to add walk-in reservation and release table

A walk-in reservation is a table booking made on the spot without a prior appointment. It is commonly used for guests who arrive at the restaurant without a reservation. These bookings are logged immediately into the reservation system to ensure accurate table management and availability tracking.

How to Add a Walk-in Reservation Directly onto the Calendar:

  1. Open admin.tablein.com 
  2. Click and drag (to the right) along the time grid to set the duration of the reservation.
  3. Change the reservation status to "Walk-in".
  4. Click Save to confirm the booking.

How to Add a Walk-in Reservation Using the “Reservation” Button

  1. Locate and click the “Reservation” button to create a new booking.
  2. Set the status to “Walk-in”.
  3. Input the total number of guests.
  4. Select both the Start Time and End Time for the reservation.
  5. From the list of available tables, select the desired one and click Confirm.
  6. Finalize the booking by clicking Save.

How to Release a Table After a Walk-in Reservation:

  1. Find and click on the existing walk-in reservation from the calendar or reservation list.
  2. Adjust the reservation end time to the nearest available time slot.
  3. Click Save to confirm and release the table for new bookings.
